Every month on Quizified, thousands of players tackle ten new questions a day. This month the question that had most of you scratching your heads was: In which city can you see Van Gogh’s painting The Starry Night? Only 14.4% of players answered correctly with New York, while more than half (52%) chose Amsterdam - a very understandable response!
Amsterdam’s Van Gogh Museum houses the world’s largest collection of the artist’s works. But The Starry Night itself actually hangs across the Atlantic, in New York’s Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).
Painted in 1889 while Van Gogh was staying at a mental asylum in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, The Starry Night is one of the most famous images in all of art - swirling skies, blazing stars, and a restless energy that’s pure Van Gogh.
