The Tricky One
The trickiest question during August was Where in the human body is the gastrocnemius? At first glance, it looks like the kind of word that must be linked to the digestive system. And indeed, an overwhelming 88.3% of players confidently selected Stomach. Yet the gastrocnemius is nothing to do with food at all. It’s actually one of the main muscles of the lower leg, crucial for walking, running, and jumping - and only 10.3% of Quizified players got it right. If you were one of them, well done!
The word gastrocnemius comes from the Greek words gaster (meaning stomach or belly) and kneme (meaning leg), which together mean belly of the leg. This name refers to the bulging, curved shape of the calf muscle, which was likened to a stomach.
The result is a good reminder of how deceptive language can be, and why Quizified is a good way to sharpen your knowledge so you don't get caught out in future!
